Finally! They ran an article.

It's not what we had planned, but our gals are in the Baldwin Register for today (12/18/09)! I guess it makes sense that they wanted to feature all the winners. That must be what took so long...Mama Vick was on the ball and they didn't think it was fair to only note Fairhope and Dapne U10 girls. (I'm only guessing here.)

Anyway, here is a snapshot of the article. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Interesting News

I have been unable post more pictures to the blog recently due to Thanksgiving and my lovely daughter somehow finding a way to infect my old computer with a string of viruses. I will post as soon as everything is cleared up and I get everything transferred so that I can access them with my laptop. Sorry for the wait.

Oh you wanted the interesting news! Well, thanks to the diligence of Soccer Mama Vick and a bit of leg work in another area on my part, we should be seeing an article in the Baldwin Register and Courier sometime next week about our U10 Gals. It is my understanding the Courier runs Wednesdays and Saturdays and the Baldwin register is within the Mobile Register everyday, so keep your eye out. If we find out the actual dates for the article to run I'll let you know!

Hope everyone is well and had a great Thanksgiving.

Parent Pix...bring em on!

These are some pictures from the T-Shirt Guru; Soccer Mama Vick...we're missing some girls (Liv and the two Madisons) from the duo team picture but I thought these needed to be up here for everyone to see. I'm working on getting a Daphne team photo. (They worked hard too, everyone did.)
Please, submit photos, I'm so slow at looking at my own, if you have pictures you want to submit, just email them. I didn't wander the field, and mine are only action shots.

Correction to an earlier post

It was brought to my attention that I missed another scorer in the Foley match on Saturday. Madison Couch also scored a goal. I apologize for this oversight. I was so keyed up I didn't list her. Please note I have updated the original post. GO FAIRHOPE!

FAIRHOPE U10 Girls- 2009 Baldwin Cup CHAMPIONS!!!!

FAIRHOPE rocked the field and won the 2009 Baldwin County Cup! If any team deserves it, it's this one. They played hard, fast and with heart.
Thanks to Coach Ed, Coach Deano for leading the girls to a victory! Thanks Manager Dana - for keeping us all straight! Thanks to Soccer Mama Vick for the AWESOME All-Star Shirts! Thanks to Soccer Mama Norris for the SOCKS that pumped up the girls! Thanks to all the parents who supported and cheered on the girls as well as gave up an entire weekend to make sure we came home with this victory!
I will post more pictures as time permits (I have to get ready for my day job now.)

GO FAIRHOPE!

FAIRHOPE GOBBLES GULF SHORES AND FLATTENS FOLEY - edited 11/23/2009

FAIRHOPE U10 Gals besieged Gulf Shores and Foley in All-Star round one (day one). FAIRHOPE snared 14 out of 14 possible points.

Offense won the day posting one or more goals on day one (In order of first names first...LOL):
Cate Kasuba
Eva Brandon

Madison Couch
Madison Stanaland "Hollywood"
Paige Hammele

DEFENSE SAVED THE DAY!!

SHUT OUT! 3-0 Gulf Shores

SHUT OUT! 4-0 FOLEY

Shut-Out soooo not possible without that AWESOME defensive line. (Brook, Sara, Syd, Ashley,..oh gosh I wish I'd had more time to learn your names...) STRONG Defense!!!

What we did well:

TEAMWORK: defense did an awesome job of putting the ball to the forwards. They descended on the enemy at the gates like an impenetrable yellow wall.

LOOKING CENTER: Some great passes to center, some we even capitalized on.

FEW PENALTIES: Only one off sides that I can recall.

INSIDE KICKS: When we attack within the goalie box our chance of scoring goes WAY WAY up. Every single goal today was within the RED ZONE (the goalie box)!!!

Ok, now...here are a few shots...I only took (don't laugh) 1,006 pictures today. Since I'm still gearing up for tomorrow...I can't possibly post all of the good ones. If someone is missed - it is because I haven't made it through all the pix...I will be updating this little baby for a week. I've only looked at the first half of the first game...and I usually follow the ball through the lense so if your little darlin' touched the ball, I probably have a shot of it.

GO FAIRHOPE!!
